HEC releases Rs 53.9 crore to UoS under endowment fund
SWAT: The Higher Education Commission has provided endowment funds of Rs.53.9 million to the University of Swat.
The University of Swat (UoS) is one of the few universities in the country to have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Higher Education Commission to identify alternative sources to improve its financial capacity.
According to the memorandum, an endowment fund has been set up to improve the university’s financial performance, to which HEC has initially allocated Rs.53.9 million. The fund serves to better manage the university’s financial affairs.
An office will be set up to work for the financial stability of the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher described the project as important for the financial future of the university. He reiterated his commitment to making the university one of the top universities in the country.
KP-HCC SEALS THREE HEALTH CENTERS
The KP Health Commission on Friday conducted an inspection of medical shops and health centers here in Swat district after many complaints were received on the KP Citizens Portal.
Under the direction of Swat Deputy Commissioner Junaid Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Babuzai Amir Khan along with KP Healthcare Commission Senior Inspector Saeedur Rehman and Inspector Faiz Ali Khan conducted inspections of various health centers under the KP Healthcare Commission Act 2015 in Swat district .
They inspected 16 health centers and medical supply stores. During the campaign, three centers were sealed after they were found to be flouting rules and regulations.
More specifically, Advance Dental Care was sealed after discovering that the owner was employed with a dental practice without a BDS doctor at the time of the inspection. Refilled tooth cartridges were also secured in the dental clinic.
Meanwhile, the Saddam Dental Clinic was sealed after it was found that its owner, Zia Ullah Khan, was engaged in operating a dental practice without a permit. According to officials, the clinic is not registered with KP-HCC.
Similarly, Yaseen Health Clinic was sealed for engaging in unskilled medical practices.
